AirHue is a residency program based in Huế, Việt Nam, designed to support national and international emerging and mid-career artists, curators, researchers and cultural workers. Our mission is anchored in three core principles: work-based residency, community engagement, and experimental research.

About

This program prioritizes Vietnamese artists based in Việt Nam and offers residencies with a minimum duration of eight weeks. It provides a focused environment for artists to realize their work and engage deeply with their practice.

Program

  • Our application portal is currently closed. Please stay tuned for our next Open Call! In the mean time, feel free to browse our resources from the last cycle.

In case you have the means to self-fund or have possible access to external funding, consider applying to our Self-Funded Residency Program.

This program offers a flexible and independent environment for creative exploration in Huế, Việt Nam. We customize our approach to adapt to the needs of each project and support the artist in their development process without the pressure of completing any specific work (although that would be fun!) Our application portal is currently open for the 2026 cycle running from January to December.

  • If you are considering applying for external funding to pursue the residency program, our team is more than happy to assist you throughout the funding application process after you have been selected (e.g., providing recommendation letters), and provide any further support to help you prepare before coming to our space, ensuring a smooth transition into the residency.

If you are a Vietnamese based in Việt Nam, consider applying to our Sponsored Residency Program. Stay tuned for our next open call announcement toward the middle of next year!

In parallel to building an environment for (art)work development through residencies, we organize and facilitate a variety of activities to foster creativity, artistic expression and collaboration, as well as community engagement.

Our social engagement program features studio openings, artist talks, workshops, pop-up libraries, performances, and other community projects.

  • Information on our upcoming public program will be available soon!

In the meantime, please feel free to look through our past activities.

As an independent art program, AirHue would not be able to sustain without the ongoing and unwavering support of our patrons and collaborators.

If you like what we do, please consider donating to the program. Or better yet, if you have an idea for collaboration, reach out and partner with us!
